Roosevelt Hospital is a 505-bed, full-service community and tertiary care hospital. The hospital was first established in 1871 and is an Academic Affiliate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. In 1979, St. Luke's-Roosevelt was formed by a merger of St. Luke's Hospital and The Roosevelt Hospital. The speed of the system and fast acquisition time allow many studies to be performed in a single breath-hold, reducing motion artifact and optimizing profitability. One of the major benefits of multi-slice scanners is the ability to reconstruct multiple slice thicknesses from one data acquisition.
