Coming Soon 3D Tomosynthesis

3D Mammography (Tomosynthesis) Now Available!

3D mammography (tomosynthesis) is an FDA-approved technology that complements conventional 2D mammography. When 3D and 2D mammography are used together, some studies show that it may improve cancer detection rates. While traditional mammography generates a 2D image, tomosynthesis creates a 3D image of the breast allowing the radiologist to evaluate thin mammography sections of the breast, minimizing superimposed tissue. 3D mammography can provide a clearer image of the breast tissue and may reduce the need for additional imaging.

The DICOE program, which represents the pinnacle of medical imaging care, is an achievement that goes beyond accreditation to recognize best-quality imaging practices and diagnostic care. This includes a comprehensive assessment of the entire medical imaging enterprise, including structure and outcomes. The DICOE designation recognizes excellence at multiple levels — including the professional staff, the technology and the policies and procedures the organization follows — and superior patient care.

In order to receive this elite distinction, facilities must be accredited by the ACR in all modalities they provide, and in which the ACR offers an accreditation program. Another requirement is to participate in the Dose Index Registry® and General Radiology Improvement Database, as well as Image Wisely® and Image Gently® for more information about the ACR and their Quality and Safety Accreditation Program please visit

Breast Cancer Awareness 2015

At New York Radiology Partners, we are passionately committed to women's health. This year in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we have become a Flagship Sponsor for the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides against Breast Cancer Walk" scheduled for October 18th in New York City's Central Park. Huge funds are required for ground breaking cancer research; for comprehensive support for diagnosed patients as well as ensuring access to breast imaging for all patients who need them. Partnering with American Cancer Society's "Making Strides" to raise these funds further illustrates our commitment to breast cancer prevention. We hope that together with our dedicated radiologists, staff, referring clinicians, families, friends and patients that we will raise enough money to make that difference!

NYRP sponsored the New York Mets during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Doctors and staff visited Citi Field to help New Yorkers remember to schedule their annual mammograms!

New York Radiology Partners Responds to Revised Breast Screening Guidelines

In the wake of the recent revision of breast screening guidelines by the American Cancer Society, New York Radiology Partners continues to advocate the more widely-accepted recommendation from the American College of Radiology, the Society of Breast Imaging and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists - which is for annual mammography screening for women aged 40 and above. This recommendation delivers the maximum lifesaving benefits and morbidity prevention from breast cancer.

New York Radiology Partners strongly encourages women aged 40 and above to continue annual screening for the early detection of breast cancer and to discuss questions with their physicians.
